Welcome to ICDM 2029
The IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM) has established itself as the world’s premier research conference in data mining. It provides an international forum for sharing original research results, as well as for exchanging and disseminating innovative and practical development experiences. The conference covers all aspects of data mining, including algorithms, software, systems, and applications.
ICDM draws researchers, application developers, and practitioners from a wide range of data mining-related areas, such as big data, deep learning, pattern recognition, statistical and machine learning, databases, data warehousing, data visualization, knowledge-based systems, high-performance computing, and large models. By promoting novel, high-quality research findings and innovative solutions to challenging data mining problems, the conference seeks to advance the state of the art in data mining.
ICDM 2029 will be held in Osaka, Japan. We look forward to welcoming the global data mining community to the Kansai region.

Novel applications of data mining in data science, including analysis in the social sciences, physical sciences, engineering, life sciences, climate science, web, marketing, finance, precision medicine, health informatics, and other domains.
We particularly encourage submissions in emerging topics of high importance, such as ethical data analytics, automated data analytics, data-driven reasoning, interpretable modeling, modeling with evolving environments, multi-modal data mining, and heterogeneous data integration and mining.
Host City — Osaka
Osaka sits at the heart of Japan’s Kansai region and anchors one of the country’s largest metropolitan areas. It is a city of contrasts: the stone ramparts of Osaka Castle and the ancient halls of Shitennō-ji stand a short train ride from the neon canals of Dōtonbori and the glass towers of Umeda. Long known as the “nation’s kitchen,” Osaka is celebrated for a food culture that is generous, informal, and best explored on foot.
Osaka is also a major research hub, home to Osaka University, Osaka Metropolitan University, and neighbouring institutions across Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe — all within roughly an hour by rail. Kansai International Airport connects the city directly to destinations across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania, and the Shinkansen network places Tokyo about two and a half hours away.

Getting there
Kansai International Airport (KIX) offers direct long-haul and regional service, with a direct rail link into central Osaka. Osaka Itami (ITM) handles most domestic flights.
Getting around
A dense subway, JR, and private-rail network covers the city and the wider Kansai region; most venues and hotels are within walking distance of a station.
Beyond the city
Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, and Himeji are each under an hour away, making Osaka a natural base for excursions before or after the conference.
